Since January of 1969, Dan Harris owner/operator of Archibald’s has brought smiles to many of the area’s finest businessmen, politicians, celebrities, and tourists. Located just two blocks from the White House and convenient to three Metro Stops including Farragut North, Farragut West, and McPherson Square. Archibald’s is DC’s only gentleman’s club located in the prestigious K St. corridor. Originally a townhouse and dental office in 1909 it was turned into a restaurant in 1963 called Tinker Bells 1520 Club. In 1969 Dan Purchased the building bringing in ‘Dancing Show Girls’ and the Executive Club became one of the first Gentleman’s Clubs featuring “Completely Topless Dancing Girls” in the Nation’s Capital, and eventually changed its name to Archibald’s in 1975. Between the years 1978-1995 he opened and ran The Comedy Café on the property’s 2nd floor, hosting once unknown comedians such as Jay Leno, Bill Marr, Dave Chappell, Ellen DeGeneres, Drew Carey, Rosie O’Donnell, Wanda Sykes, Martin Lawrence and many others. In 1986 the Comedy Cafe was moved to the newly remodeled 3rd floor, and Jonathan’s – a sports bar named after his son – took its place.
After 17 years, in 1969, the Comedy Cafe was closed and Fast Eddie’s Sports and Billiards was introduced in its place. Recently during the latest remodel of the building, Dan elected to remove the pool hall from the third floor and replace it with the new VIP lounge which features two Billiard tables, 13 TV’s, and a 40 foot granite bar in addition to itsrunway stage. Designed to be a multi-functional space it can be rented for private events as well as function as the VIP level for Archibald’s on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights.
Archibald’s 1520 K Street, NW, now a fully nude Gentlemen’s Club, (Yes we take it all off!) is open five days and seven nights a week. There are Three levels, a full service sports bar during the days, with Karaoke on Wednesday nights, a VIP lounge open Thursday-Saturday, and a full service restaurant with over 80 of DC’s most bodacious1 beauties on staff and over 30 lovely Arch Angels playing hostess every day from open to close. Archibald’s is open for business weekdays for lunch at 11:30 am. Archibald’s also offers a full menu until an hour before close every night as well as bottle and champagne service.
